2004: Bingo
A downloadable game for Windows
Hidden Magic!
About
In 2004, when I was 14, there were some working children and teenagers who had made a kind of game out of cardboard called “Shansi” (“Chance”). It was a rectangular box covered with numerous drawn circles. People would pay them some money, choose one of the circles, and press it to punch through the cardboard, revealing a hidden prize of unknown value.
They were around my age, and their idea inspired me to create a computer game called “Bingo: The Hidden Magic” using AutoPlay Media Studio, and give CDs of the game as prizes to my friends!
A casual luck-based risk-and-reward game built around a push-your-luck mechanic. Players reveal hidden squares to discover rewards, but hitting a mine results in an immediate loss. After each successful reveal, players must decide whether to secure their winnings or continue taking the risk for potentially greater rewards.
